This is one of my new 2010 projects I am really excited about. When I first thought about teaching the photographic skills I use to photograph children, I started asking around and my clients were thrilled by the idea of learning the tricks of the trade… So I have decided to make it happen, and I am looking forward to spend two weekend afternoons sharing my technical knowledge  as well as my practical approach to a photo session. You’ll also get to practice on the field with me, photographing your own children or our model and review your work with me the day after. I’ll also be giving you Photoshop tips on how to digitally process your images. And exciting news, we’ll have a raffle prize gently sponsored by my favorite photo lab, BayPhoto. So, sign up and learn to photograph your kid like a pro on August 14th and 15th!

Looking at Patrizia you won’t only be captured by her ageless beauty, but also by the carisma, elegance and class.. I had such a great experience working with her a few months back in Milan.. She is so gracious for letting me share her personal album. Thank you Patty!

Fun with my LensBaby

Filed under: Maternities, Personal — admin @ 3:36 am

A few weeks ago I bought a lens I alwasy wanted to have in my camera bag.. it’s a really fun toy the LENSBABY! Lensbaby focuses manually so it’s best used when you have some time to play around with it, especially because only one part of the photo will be on focus and everything else, as you will see from these images comes out quite blurry or distorted, creating an unique artsy image! I tested it at a recent maternity shoot and with a little magic filter in the editing room the atmosphere is created!

During dinner time at a wedding, I played focusing on one single element, while everything else is washed away. Perfect when the sorrounding is not important or want to enphasize a moment in time!

The real challenge will be using LensBaby with kids… they are subjects in constant movement so focusing manually can be a real problem! But I am sure the results are worth the effort… I quite like these two shots of little Sierra…

Stay tuned for more experiments…

Here’s Maxine complete article:

The hottest (and sexiest) new trend is boudoir photography, especially when it comes to that wedding day gift to your groom. Hint: It involves the bride wearing a lot less than her wedding gown. On your wedding day you will already feel your most beautiful so take advantage of that extra boost of self esteem, plus can you imagine the look on your groom’s face when he sees them. Yowza! Boudoir photos are usually taken wearing just a little or well, maybe just a veil. Think classic pinup inspired, classic and tasteful not X-rated, more that you’re not wearing anything, but your also not showing off anything either. These shot are taken from the back or while you are lying on your stomach.
Bridal Boudoir Photography takes place in the privacy of your home, bedroom, studio, or and place you choose and feel comfortable in. Make it playful or sultry, subtle or shy, or justt let it happen. When it comes to planning your wardrobe or lack there of talk to your photographer the most important part is to choose outfits that make you feel sexy. Corsets will create sexy curves, but in addition to lingerie, don’t forget jewelry, shoes, and most of all that engagement ring. Acessories that you wouldn’t normally think of may make the photos extra special for your special guy. Example if he is into football, just wear his favorite jersey and nothing else or if he is always playing his guitar, well then you play with his guitar in the photos. Hopefully these will give you some great ideas. Just remember while you are posing that you are doing this for the man you love, the man you intend to marry and spend the rest of your life with. If you can relax and go with the flow, you will be posing like a pro in no time.
