“We did it!” photo session are an opportunity to capture some really amazing portraits of a bride and groom days (or weeks) after the wedding. Not having the time constrain to rush to the reception but instead fully enjoying a couple of hours of relaxed posing will allow you so many photo opportunities to enrich your wedding album. Melanie and Ben really wanted to capture their love in a fall like setting, but on their wedding day early October, there wasn’t enough time for photographs since their reception was  at a location 30 minutes drive away from the ceremony site, plus we wouldn’t have found Holbrook Park in all its splendor yet. So, a few weeks later, we met again, in all tranquillity, at the right time of the year to enjoy the leaves turning color and no one waiting for the bride and groom.

Just got back two days ago from Puerto Vallarta,  my first time in Mexico covering Stacie and Sean’s destination romantic wedding. It was a long wait since I photographed Stacie and Sean in San Francisco for their engagement last april.  Just off the plane I was hit by a wave of warm air and I immediately knew it was love at first site with Mexico! Just my kind of weather… I had the pleasure to stay in close contact with Stacie and Sean for a few days in the villas they had rented for the event. Their closest family and friends all flew in to spend a few days with them on this special occasion. A very long celebration of love. Destination weddings are definitely something special as you remember not only the day of the ceremony, but all the days spent on the getaway become special. And for a photographer, it’s photo ops BONANZA!! The day after I arrived we shot at the Villas where the bride and groom were staying, the day after the wedding we had more time to concentrate on some “Stacie and Sean time” in some remote areas of Puerto Vallarta. I could have kept going on and on.. I am the most inspired when shooting in yet unknown locations, the discoveries are such a thrill!

I had this fantasy of a beach shoot with Stacie horseback riding but the beaches we visited were too crowded.. so we opted for a quieter location with a rich and colorful vegetation background. Not too bad after all!

A couple of months ago I was in Milan, Italy and with my friends at Fiori di Miele we organized a Boudoir Day at the luxurious Grand Visconti Palace in the heart of the city. It was our first appointment of many to come.. so, to my italian crowd, stay tuned for the next dates in 2010.

Due mesi fa ero a Milano e con le mie amiche di Fiori di Miele abbiamo organizzando un evento Boudoir al lussuoso ed elegante Grand Visconti Palace nel cuore della citta’. E’ stato il nostro primo di molti prossimi appuntamenti.. quindi, amici italiani, restate in ascolto per le prossime date a Milano e a Roma per il 2010. E ovviamente sono a disposizione per organizzare questi eventi in tutte le citta’ d’Italia. A presto!

I am so excited to announce we have a new logo at Daniela Degrassi Photography! With the launch of the new website a while back I really felt the need of a new, more elegant branding. My graphic designer Nadia Andreini and I went through mutliple tests and combined elements from my website design to this edgier font that represents my need to explore a more modern look. I love it, I hope you do too!

Many of you already know that Holbrook Park is my favorite spot for Fall Portraits. It was really nice to reconnect with Eunice and Shawn, after photographing their wedding a few years ago. Now their family has grown and they are enjoying life with their beautiful daughter Isabella. She was such a joyful model throughout our session, I had a hard time picking my favorites!

The colors at Holbrook Park are wonderful at this time of year, but they’ll soon start to change.. hurry up and capture beautiful colorful moments before the winter arrives!

Playing around with filters for a more romantic effect…

I wanted to use a vintage filter for a while now.. I have finally found the right images… this fun family photo session at the Marin Art and Garden Center in Marin County. This is my 4th year photographing the Connery’s on Christmas Season. Haley and Morgan were at their best behavior this year, thank you girls!
