Remembering Angel Ryan at Ryan’s Ride 2009

Filed under: events — admin @ 11:12 pm

Another great year at the Ryan Phua Memorial Kids’ Ride in Burlingame last Sunday! This event was brought to life by my dear friends Michele and John Phua, in memory of their dear son, who was lost too soon 7 years ago. The spirit and love of these two wonderful parents gave life to this fun event that is part of the Burlingame Criterium and dedicated to young kids and toddlers… I have photographed the event almost every year and it is always so much fun to capture these kids in all their fantastic gear and attitudes! Above is Matthew (Ryan’s twin brother) getting ready for the race. Michele and John, despite the hard work to keep the event flowing and well organized, have always a smile for everyone. I feel really honored to be their friend!

Celebrity Steven Seaweed of 107.7 The Bone was the official speaker at the starting line and champion Jim Ochowicz was the chairman for the event.

Ryan’s Ride proceeds benefit the Lance Amstrong Foundation. To learn more about the organization please visit Ryan’s Ride website, you can make an online donation, become a sponsor or a volunteer next year!

Half Moon Bay Vintage Maternity Shoot

Filed under: Maternities, Portraits — admin @ 6:43 pm

Another maternity shoot at my favorite beach in Half Moon Bay. The lighting was just perfect, the clouds filtered the sun and I didn’t have to worry about strong shadows on my subject faces. And today I felt like playing with filter adding a Vintage look to my favorite photographs from the session.

Madeleine was a bit camera shy but she is showing here her wonderful smile, and her face lit up looking at her husband and son, Blake who also gave a few smiles to the camera.

Fun in Paris

Filed under: Destination Weddings, weddings — admin @ 5:30 pm

There is always a first time. Finally it arrived for me to walk the streets of Paris! It moved me to tears to see how amazingly beautiful it is! It was just too short a visit though.. two days aint’ enough to see all the wonders… and it was just too short my time spent with Hortense and Ezio, a fun couple living the life in Paris. They took us walking their favorites, less notorious spots in Paris and were just adorable playing for us a French style love affair :)

At the end of our brief shoot we enjoyed some french wine, ate that delicious baguette (yes, with nothing in it!) and here’s me toasting to the fun life in Paris!

Amina’s Show

Filed under: Portraits — admin @ 9:02 pm

I admit. I have a few favorites among my clients. I have seen Amina’s family grow since her mom was pregnant with her. Our first shoot, as a newborn, wasn’t an easy one, she kept crying and crying for a good while, but then after getting some fresh air she fell asleep and the photograph I took of her mom holding her is still one of my all time favorites. After that, a star was born.. each time I photograph her, her face lits up and it is impossible for me to stop. Her expressions vary so much, and as she got comfortable getting to know me, she is quite the playful model.

Giulia and Fabio’s Wedding in Turin, Italy

Filed under: Destination Weddings, weddings — admin @ 10:03 am

During my recent travels in Europe, I had the honor of photographing Giulia and Fabio’s wedding in Turin, Italy. The young and charming couple celebrated their love at Tenuta Berroni, a splendid Italian Villa in the Piedmont country side. I wanna thank Countess Alessandra Castelbarco, owner of the Villa, for her precious help and courtesy.

Giulia also works in the wedding industry. She owns Dedicato a Voi Sposi in Turin and she is welcoming any bride and groom who need help organizing their wedding in the Piemonte region.

Here’s Giulia with her puppy just a few moments before stepping into her elegant wedding gown. She is such a natural, classic, italian beauty!

The ceremony was held at San Bernardino Church in Turin. I found that Italian priests are a bit more flexible with photographers during the ceremony, allowing them to move around as much as necessary to get their favorite shots.

The party went on for hours at the Villa, the day was blessed with warm weather, delicious food and wine and a fun crowd!

Stay tuned for Giulia’s and Fabio wedding slideshow coming shortly!
