Details of Italy

Filed under: Personal — admin @ 12:15 pm

I am on assignment in Italy and finding some time to enjoy the beauties of my native country. I have never been much of a landscape photographer so I always get more attracted by architectural details, colors and shapes. I spent a fabulous day and a half in Liguria, and strolling in the streets of Noli and Finale Ligure I snapped a few photos.. I should maybe show more of the breathtaking coastal views of Liguria, but living in California I get plenty of coastal views, so, here’s what captured my eyes :)

I love iron work and there is plenty to see of that in Italy. Balconies and gates are so rich and detailed. I also love old towers, can’t stop immagining when they were built, how medival life must have been.. so many centuries of history…

If you are ever in Finale Ligure, please stop by and try the delicacies of the region at “Osteria dei quattru canti”.. It’s a small, intimate, characteristic restaurant serving local, super delicious food.

May is a fantastic time to visit Italy, the weather is just perfect, not too hot, great for enjoying strolls and traveling around. Even the locals say it’s the best time of the year, they get to enjoy their surroundings without too much confusion around… This one below is a typical scene in small villages, the elderly gathering in a piazza to chat away in the late afternoon while a light breeze is blowing.

Napa E-Session with Amber and Patrick

Filed under: Engagements — admin @ 12:21 am

I am having so much fun photographing engagement sessions lately. I like to dedicate as much time as possible to my bride and groom to be, so they can feel more comfortable around my camera on the day of the wedding. As a result, I’ll know before hand what poses are best suited for each couple. Plus, it’s such a joy being around all that love energy!! Amber and Patrick live in Napa and they wanted their engagement photos to reflect the area where they live and work.

The winery fields are such a romantic backdrop for engagement photos… I love so many of these photos!! Driving around in search for inspiration we found a great red barn where Patrick and Amber had fun posing for me. I love red walls! I couldn’t decide on a favorite, so here’s a few of this set.

Yes, we are still in Napa.. but how funny it was to find this sign just on the other side of the road from the red barn. This old car also got our attention, this is where we started our shoot actually. Just a few miles away from where Amber and Patrick will get married this august…

San Francisco Skyline Family Shoot

Filed under: Portraits — admin @ 5:28 pm

The beautiful San Francisco Skyline was the background for this family photo shoot that took place a couple of weeks ago.

back home, in more casual clothes, here’s some fun moments with the kids. I think this candid shot of Shane with his shirt not tucked in is my favorite of all!
